Suburban Lawns – Janitor (1981?)

Such wacky, weird, rambunctious rock n’ roll. What is music? This was one of LA’s most exciting new music bands. 1978 to 1982 is a magickal period in recorded music wherein reverb was not welcome and every recorded sound had instantaneous decay and was super dry. So, sort of the opposite of a lot of stuff I hear (over-)produced these days — it’s like the late 80s all over again, where the snare has to reverberate for 11 seconds per hit and sound like it was recorded in a Medieval church cathedral the size of a galaxy. Bonus pic of lead singer Su Tissue after the … well, right now. In the future nobody will be famous for 15 nanocrum’bs.
